The Magic Carpet project commenced Dec. 1: 25,000 square feet of new carpet with thread lying beneath to connect and power the devices you use in the places you work, learn and relax in the Lester Public Library.

Over the past two years, Individuals, families, organizations and businesses contributed more than $245,000 to the library’s Magic Carpet Fund.

Another facet of the project includes the purchase of mobile shelving that allows reading spaces to be easily transformed into more spacious gathering spots and program venues.

Curbside delivery continues uninterrupted though there may be brief delays in filling requests if items are located in rotating work zones. When the building reopens, patrons will be met with a fresh new look and new technology required to maintain–and grow–our vibrant community.
