A team of artists are working on an impressive mural depicting the fish who reside in our Lake Michigan waters. The 110-foot piece is being painted on the back wall of Seagull Marina’s maintenance building, which abuts the new South Breakwater Trail.

David Carpenter designed the project and is working with fellow artists Erin LaBonte, Rebecca Jabs and Don Krumpos to complete the work.

Two Rivers Public Works crews are putting in the trail to provide a safe, accessible connection from Mariners Trail to the south breakwater. It skirts along the edge of the Public Works yard and the wastewater treatment plant. Asphalt paving work is scheduled next week. Interpretive signage telling the history of the harbor will also be going up.

Funding assistance for the project was provided by Wisconsin Coastal Management Program and the West Foundation.
