Kites Over Lake Michigan moves inland
The 15th annual KOLM will go on again this Labor Day weekend, just not OVER the lake.
The event moves to the wide open space offered by Two Rivers High School after record lake levels leave only narrow ribbons of sand at Neshotah Beach, where the popular festival has been held since 2005.
See incredible displays of giant show kites of every type and size, precision stunt teams performing amazing aerial ballet with their kites, and spectacular and colorful ground displays Sept. 5-6. Onlookers can watch from their vehicles if they choose.
The school and beach will reverse roles: with the festival at TRHS, overflow parking will be available at the beach with a shuttle providing transportation both days.
