The 15th annual KOLM will go on again this Labor Day weekend, just not OVER the lake.

The event moves to the wide open space offered by Two Rivers High School after record lake levels leave only narrow ribbons of sand at Neshotah Beach, where the popular festival has been held since 2005.

See incredible displays of giant show kites of every type and size, precision stunt teams performing amazing aerial ballet with their kites, and spectacular and colorful ground displays Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 5-6. Onlookers can watch from their vehicles if they choose.

Overflow parking will be available at Walsh Field (2201 Polk St.) and a shuttle bus service will provide transportation to and from the high school 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

Saturday night, enjoy a waterfront fireworks show at 8 p.m. They’ll be shot off behind the Coast Guard Station; prime viewing opportunities all along the shoreline!
