A free monthly yoga class; all are welcome.
Donations accepted for area nonprofits, but are not required.
Seva is a Sanskrit word meaning selfless service.
The sessions, led by Breathe for Change certified yoga instructor Maren Slickman, are focused on the whole being and are suitable for all levels. The goal: show respect and love for your body just the way it is showing up in the present moment. Each class opens with a warm-up and sun salutation sequence. Participants then move through standing poses, heart-opening poses, and forward folds. Practice ends with savasana–a deep and final relaxation pose–and a gentle closing.
Classes are for those high school age and older. Younger people may participate if accompanied by an adult. Sessions are monthly (except for February) through May. Bring a yoga mat (if you have one), a small pillow or blanket, and a water bottle. Wear comfortable clothing.
Classes are held in room 312 at the high school. Enter the building through the southwest corner doors labeled “Door 3.” Slickman will be at the door to greet and direct participants.
