Book Discussion Group: The Beauty in Breaking

Meet to discuss a great book the first Wednesday of each month. The October selection is The Beauty in Breaking by Michele Harper (memoir). Harper is a female, African American emergency room physician in a profession that is primarily male and white. Each of the patients Harper writes about taught her something important about recuperation and recovery. To let go of fear even when the future is murky. To tell the truth when it’s simpler to overlook it. And to understand that compassion isn’t the same as justice. Read more about the book.
